JACKSON, Tenn. — High profile NAIA women's college basketball is going back to the historic Oman Arena this weekend for the Jackson Rotary Classic or better known as the "Champions Classic".
Oman Arena, originally Jackson Coliseum, is a 5,600-seat multi-purpose arena. Originally opened in 1967, it was renamed in honor of the late Tury Oman, a local long-time coach. Oman Arena is the former home of the NAIA Women's Division 1 National Championship from 1990-2011.
Fourth-ranked Campbellsville is one of 14 teams from across the country that is competing as there are seven games on Friday, Nov. 25 and seven on Saturday the 26th. The Lady Tigers play John Brown on Friday at 3:30 p.m. ET and No. 2 Westmont on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

Thirteen of the squads are ranked in the Top 25 – seven of those in the Top 10 - while one received votes in the Coaches' Preseason Poll.

Matchups: Campbellsville vs. John Brown
Campbellsville (5-0) is coming off a win in its home opener on Monday, Nov. 21, as the Lady Tigers ran past No. 21 Talladega, 100-57.
Emily Fox led CU with 25 points, while
Madison Clements scored 23 – 20 of those in the first half, and
Jordan Doram matched her career-high with 15 points and nine rebounds.
Both Clements and Fox are shooting the lights out to start the season, hitting 44 and 43 percent from deep, respectively. Clements leads CU and is second in the Mid-South Conference by scoring 17.8 points per game. Fox is second on the team and fourth in the MSC at 17.0 points and is 10
th in the country by hitting 3.2 3-pointers per game.
LeeAnn Grider is the floor general for 10
th-year head coach
Ginger Colvin and has turned herself into one of the best point guards in the country. Grider ranks fourth in the NAIA by averaging 6.7 assists per game and fifth with an assist/turnover ratio of 6.7. She is 57 dimes shy of moving into second place on the all-time list for assists in a career, as she has 534 coming into this weekend.
John Brown's (5-2) two losses have both come to the College of the Ozarks (55-49 and 62-60).
Bailey Cameron and Kodee Powell lead the Eagles by averaging 16.6 and 10.7 points per contest, respectively. Both are shooting above 60 percent from the 3-point line, as Cameron ranks fourth in the NAIA by hitting 11-of-17 (64.7%), while Powell ranks seventh by splashing 17-of-28 (60.7%) from deep. Cameron is also a force in the paint averaging 8.7 rebounds per game.
As a team, the Eagles rank No. 1 in the country by hitting 10 triples per game and No. 2 by hitting 46 percent. But Campbellsville has countered that stat by allowing opponents to just hit 18 percent from deep in the first five games.
Like every team in The Classic, JBU will have a pair of tough games as the Eagles will play another Mid-South Conference opponent in No. 23 Cumberland on Saturday.
Series Facts:
• Campbellsville and John Brown have met once in program history with the Lady Tigers pulling out a 76-51 win in the first round of the 2011 national tournament.
• The only time both programs have met has been inside Oman Arena.
• In that matchup, CU took a 41-22 lead into halftime and never looked back. NAIA Player of the Year Whitney Ballinger dropped 17 points, while Courtney Clifton scored 14 and Courtney Danis had 12. Clifton also had a game-high eight rebounds.
• CU finished hitting 93 percent from the free throw line (14-of-15). John Brown hit 91 percent (10-of-11).
• The two head coaches,
Ginger Colvin and Jeff Soderquist are in the Top 14 of active winningest coaches in the NAIA. Soderquist, who has been at JBU for 20 years, has an overall record of 290-315. Colvin, who is in her 10th season, has an overall coaching record of 250-66.
