KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Campbellsville and Houghton ended up in a 0-0 draw today in the opening round of pool play at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Championship at the Austin-Tindall Soccer Complex.
The Lady Tigers (10-7-2) were out-shot 13-3 by the Highlanders, but
Amanda Howard was a stalwart in goal. The CU junior had seven saves in the 110-minute match.
Houghton (10-7-4), which plays NCAA Division III in the Empire 8 Conference, peppered CU's end of play as Nikki Garns collected seven of the Highlanders' 13 shots.
Rachel Mobley had two shots and
Jordan Stallings one. Stalling's shot was the only one on goal for the Lady Tigers.
Eighteen fouls were called in the match, 11 on the Lady Tigers.
Campbellsville has a day off before it gets back on the pitch Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 3:30 p.m. against Central Christian College of Kansas.
