McKENZIE, Tenn. — Coach
Ginger Colvin was able to play every player on her bench today, as all but one scored a point in Campbellsville's 88-50 win over Hiwassee College.
The fourth-ranked Lady Tigers improve to 2-0 overall after sweeping their competition this weekend at the 4
th Annual Chamber Classic hosted by Bethel University. CU also beat Harris-Stowe State University last night, 65-58.
Emily Fox got hot from deep, hitting five 3-point baskets and scoring a season-high 18 points. Fox also grabbed three rebounds and dished out three assists.
Madison Clements also scored in double figures for the second straight night as she hit three 3-point baskets and finished 6-of-12 from the floor overall for 15 points.
Point guard
LeeAnn Grider kept her teammates involved by grabbing five rebounds and dishing out seven assists – both game-highs. Grider also made a bucket and a free throw for three points.
Grider gave way to
Lauren Turner and freshman
Caitlin Hall for majority of the second half and both thrived in ample playing time. Turner scored nine points, while Hall registered her first Lady Tiger points with a 3 in the final five minutes of play.
Out of Campbellsville's 28 made buckets, 19 of those were assisted. Behind Grider's seven, Fox had three and Turner, Clements,
Abby Miller and
Madison Kaiser all registered two assists.
Caitlin Hall rounded out the Lady Tigers with one dime.
With all 14 players playing, Campbellsville scored 39 bench points tonight with 36 points coming inside the paint. The Lady Tigers also forced a season-high 31 turnovers and scored 30 points off those Hiwassee miscues. CU finished the Chamber Classic by forcing 60 turnovers in two games.
Campbellsville will now travel to No. 21 Talladega on Monday, Nov. 7. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET with pregame coverage starting at 6:15 with the Voice of Lady Tiger basketball
