CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Tiger basketball handed No. 20 Lindsey Wilson its fifth-straight loss on Saturday afternoon, winning 64-58 in the Powell Athletic Center.
Campbellsville (7-4, 1-1 MSC) overcame another cold shooting night but was sparked by the hot hand of sophomore guard
Hagen Tyler. He dropped 26 points on 7-of-11 shooting with five of those 3-pointers. He also finished with a game-high nine rebounds for a new Tiger career-high.
Charles Sutton led the Blue Raiders with 17 points, while Nic Brown chipped in with 13 points and finished one rebound shy a of double-double with nine.
The first half was nip and tuck throughout, with the game staying within an eight-point window. The score was tied on seven different occasions and the lead changed hands six times.
Both teams struggled on offense to start the game as Lindsey Wilson made just two of its first eight shots, while Campbellsville was 2-of-7 to start the game. After the game was tied at 13, the Tigers went on a 5-0 run to take their largest lead of the first half at 18-13 with 7:50 left in the opening stanza.
But then CU would miss its next six shots and hit its next 1-of-11 from the floor to allow the Blue Raiders to counter and lead 20-18.

Hagen Tyler scored consecutive baskets and
Antonio Chapman drilled a 3 giving the Tigers a 27-25 advantage but CU missed its final four shots in the first half. Lindsey Wilson was able to capitalize with a mini 5-0 run and take a 30-27 lead. In that opening frame, the Tigers finishing hitting just 27 percent (8-of-30) from the floor and held the rebounding advantage 23-20.
Lindsey Wilson jumped out to its largest lead of the game, 34-27, after scoring the first four second-half points. After LWC took a 37-30 lead, Tyler sparked the Tigers with an old fashioned 3-point play and started a 12-2 run for Campbellsville.
With 13:45 left,
Erik Kinney scored two of his eight points cutting the Blue Raider lead to five, 37-32, but was inadvertently elbowed just below the left eye and saw limited action the rest of the way.
CU led 42-39 with 10:10 remaining but Lindsey Wilson worked its way back to an even-tie 44-all and later took a 47-44 lead. But Tyler sparked the Tigers again with a step-back triple to give CU a 54-53 lead. After Charles Sutton scored to give the Blue Raiders the advantage, 55-54 with 4:17 left, Tyler delivered once more. He wiggled loose from the smothering defender and drilled his fifth 3-pointer to give the Tigers a 57-55 lead – a advantage CU would never surrender.
The Tigers held Lindsey Wilson scoreless for the next 3:42 until Marshall Griffin his a 3 with 35 seconds remaining. CU also went cold from the floor and didn't hit a field goal in the final 3:52 but hit 7-of-8 free throws to seal the victory.
Overall, Campbellsville finished hitting 84 percent from the charity stripe (21-of-25) and 33 percent from the floor (17-of-52). Lindsey Wilson actually sunk more baskets (20-of-62), but the Tigers delivered with nine 3s (9-of-24) compared to just two for Lindsey Wilson (2-of-13).
Campbellsville now has a lengthy break before playing Washington Adventist and Kentucky Christian on Dec. 16-17 in the Lindsey Wilson Classic.
