MT. JULIET, Tenn. — Lady Tiger golf let a 16 stroke lead slip away in Round 2 of the Cumberland Phoenix Invitational, finishing in second place with a combined score of 641.

Results

Campbellsville fired a 311 in Monday's first round but the high winds forced similar scores on Tuesday, as the Lady Tigers shot 330 today.

Trevecca Nazarene University rallied this afternoon, shooting 310 as a team and finishing in first place by just four strokes (637).

Cassidy Scantland also led the individual tournament after Round 1's 74, but the junior from Greensburg, Ky. fired an 80 in round two falling by three strokes (74-80, 154, +10).

Courtney Dye rallied from fifth place and won medalist honors with a two-over 73 on Tuesday afternoon. She finished her tournament just seven over par (78-73, 151, +7).

Fellow junior Anna-Marie Hyatt placed seventh after firing 76-86 (162, +18). Freshman Kylie Withrow improved in round two by shooting a nine-over 80. She placed in the Top 10 for the first time in her young career with a tied for eighth place finish.

Junior Ashley Goodin went 81-84 (+21)  in her two rounds and placed 10^th. Michaela Jarman and Olivia Parrott rounded out the Lady Tigers, placing tied for 15^th and tied for 17^th, respectively. Jarman fired 80-89 (169, +25), while Parrott improved from her first round score, finishing 87-83 (170, +26).

Behind Campbellsville, Indiana Tech finished third (652), host Cumberland University placed fourth (686), Bethel College finished fifth (698), Indiana Wesleyan University placed sixth (750), Bryan College finished seventh (762), and Augustana College placed eighth (777). Asbury also competed in the tournament but a student-athlete was disqualified in round one to throw out the Eagles team scores.
 

Lady Tiger golf will now have two weeks to prepare for the Mid-South Conference Spring Tournament hosted at Campbellsville Country Club on April 4-5.
