LEXINGTON, Ky. – Tiger track and field won six events and qualified for four NCCAA championship events by bringing home the Pioneer Invitational hosted by Transylvania University.

Stuart Nichols, Irell Patterson, Jacob Stefanako, Brett Pierce, Paxton Wiley and Garland Webb were individual event winners, helping the Tigers score 141.50 points for the day.
Nichols bested last weekend's hammer throw by eight meters, throwing 44.36m for first place. Aaron Johnson (42.09) and Conner Stockton (37.70) followed in third and sixth places, respectively.
Johnson also took third in discus with a 37.96-meter throw. Michael Hunt placed seventh in men's shot put.
The jumps were led by Patterson and Webb. Patterson, in his first meet of the season, won the high jump with a 1.88-meter jump. Brayden Russell and Paxton Wiley finished in third and fourth, respectively.
Webb claimed the top spot for men's long jump, leaping 6.37 meters. He also jumped his way into seventh in the triple jump.
Stefanako marked 3.50m in men's pole vault to finish in first, adding ten more points for the Tigers.
In the distance events, Pierce took the 10,000m title in 32:55.15 minutes. Ross Allen took fourth in the same event.
Bret Crawford and Dylan Ford combined for third and fourth places in the men's 1500m run. Crawford broke out of the second heat to score with a time of 4:08.04. Ford, in the fast heat, finished in 4:08.92. Will Ballard ran a personal best time for the men's 5000m, placing fifth for the Tigers in 16:30.74.
Freshman Paxton Wiley made significant contributions to the Tiger scoring column. He won the men's 110m intermediate hurdles in 15.12 seconds - an event he already has qualified for last weekend and also a new personal best. Clayton Embry trailed by exactly one second for a fourth place finish in 16.12. Embry joins Wiley by qualifying for the NCCAA National Championship in May.
Wiley, along with fellow newcomer Nicholas McGaughey, placed in 400m hurdles as well. Wiley (59.79), McGaughey (1:00.49), and Braydon Russell (1:01.06) each set personal best times while finishing in the seventh through nine spots.
The men's 4x100m relay, who set a new record last weekend, placed second with a time of 42.93 seconds.
Jaron Jackson contributed in the 200m and 400m dashes. He placed fifth in the 200 (22.51) and fourth in the 400 (51.49), and was also a part of the men's 4x400m relay which placed fourth.
Campbellsville added several NCCAA qualifiers to the list this week, including Aaron Johnson, hammer throw; Clayton Embry, 110m hurdles; Irell Patterson, high jump; and Jaron Jackson, 200m and 400m.
The Tigers will continue their outdoor season at Centre College on Saturday, April 2. Field events are only competing for CU and they start at 9 a.m. ET.
