CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Battling cold morning temperatures, Tiger golf finished in fifth place at the Mid-South Conference Spring Tournament hosted at Campbellsville Country Club.

The Tigers shot 307-310 (617) for their two day total, while University of the Cumberlands won the event with a total of 597 (291-306).
James Higgins led CU with a two-over 146 (71-75). Higgins, playing as an individual, placed third and was named the to the All-Tournament team along with medalists Jonathon Grabara (1st), Florian Loutre (2nd), Cole Ballard (4th) and Chris Butler (5th).
Grabara fired a one-under par total (143) after shooting 68-75. He led the Blue Raiders to a runner-up finish.
Higgins and Tristan Blevins carded the low round for the Tigers today, both firing two-over 74s.
In the counted scorers, Robert Johnson led the Tigers by tying for ninth place. He improved his first round score with a two-over 74 today to total 151.
Wade Cave finished tied for 14th with 152 total (73-79), Jared Fannin fired matching 78s to finish tied for 23rd. Tyler Harrod also matched his first round score of 79 today and finished tied for 28th, while Justin Hazel finished 89083 for a total of 172 and finishing in 51st place.
In addition to Higgins, the Tigers also had four others playing as individuals. Justin Riffle placed in the Top 10 with a tied for ninth finish firing 75-76 (151). He was ahead of Tristan Blevins (84-74, 158), John Eastridge (85-83, 168) and Tanner Hall (87-87, 176).
CU has a quick turn around, as it will hit the links again on April 9-10 at the University of Pikeville Spring Invitational at StoneCrest Golf Course in Prestonsburg, Ky.
