Tiger, Lady Tiger golfers receive MSC honors

BARDSTOWN, Ky. - Campbellsville's men's and women's golf teams named four players to all-conference Mid-South teams at an awards ceremony Tuesday at the conclusion of the Mid-South Championship at Maywood Country Club. Seven other men and women were named academic all-conference.



CU's Trey Shirley and Scott Foster joined Aaron Watkins, Niclas Rigbrandt and Fredrik Lindblom of Cumberlands, and Lindsey Wilson's Nathan Clark and Nicolas Navarro to the All MSC Men's First Team.

Watkins earned player of the year while Georgetown's Marcus Lake earned MSC Freshman Golfer of the Year.

Matt Walton of Cumberlands, Georgetown's Marcus Lake, Shawnee State's Justin Arnold and Kyle Burchett and St. Catharine's Nick Patterson and Adam Nolte earned All MSC Honorable Mention.

Cumberlands' Chris Kraftick and Pikeville's Kevin Auton were voted MSC Men's Golf co-Coaches of the Year as voted on by his peers.

CU's Katie White and Caitlyn Wilkerson were named to the All MSC Women's First Team joining Liz Stephens, Laura Beth Harris, Cristina Jimenez and MacKenzie Price of Cumberlands and Kaitlin Allan of Lindsey Wilson.

Stephens earned the MSC Women's Golfer of the Year for having the lowest four-round stroke total - of the six conference-sanction rounds - throughout the year.

Cristina Jimenez earned MSC Freshman Golfer of the Year for having the lowest four-round stroke total of the freshmen during the season.

Lindsey Wilson's Kelsey Joslyn, Paola Gonzalez, Jennifer MacKinnon and Candace Stacy, and Cumberlands' Shannon Bishop and Taylor Gillis earned MSC Honorable Mention.

Lindsey Wilson's Shaun Cozart was selected as the MSC Women's Golf Coach of the Year as voted on by his peers.

Fourteen male student-athletes earned academic all-conference for maintaining at least a 3.25 grade point average on a 4.0 scale and being a sophomore or higher standing, including Campbellsville's Ryan Flanagan. He was joined by Cumberlands' Aaron Watkins, Fredrik Lindblom, Eric Hodgson, Eli Towery and Vince Drahman; Georgetown's Brandon Gardner and Tanner Mahoney; Lindsey Wilson's Ryne Burnett and Grayson Bills; Pikeville's Matthew Baker, Kyle McInerney and Richard Lane; and St. Catharine's Michael Smith.

Twenty-two female student-athletes earned academic all-conference for maintaining at least a 3.25 grade point average on a 4.0 scale and being a sophomore or higher standing, including six Lady Tigers.

The academic all-conference team consisted of Campbellsville's Katie White, McLane E. Farr, Kayla Kincer, Jordan Johnson, MeLeigha Pollock and Lindsay Harris; Cumberlands' Hannah Moore, Laura Beth Harris, McKinzie Price and Taylor Gillis; Georgetown's Katie Jones, Lauren Kohake, Marlene Nall, Lauren Woodard and Jamie Pursifull; Lindsey Wilson's Kelsey Joslyn; Pikeville's Kayla Morgan; and St. Catharine's Jessica Shelton, Julie Clark, Courtney True, Ashley Pugh and Catharine Boone.
