His college career began with a hat trick in front of the Campbellsville University home crowd. Now,
Jamie Allen is the Mid-South Conference Freshman of the Year.
Allen, who is currently second in the Mid-South Conference for goals scored in 2010, was awarded the Freshman of the Year honor Wednesday morning at a breakfast before the start of the MSC Tournament in Rio Grande, Ohio.
The Leicester, England native was named the MSC Offensive Player of the Week twice during the season in September.
Also earning a top award for Campbellsville is senior midfielder
Alex Adams, who was awarded for his attitude on and off the field as the MSC Champion of Character.
The Player of the Year award went to Lindsey Wilson College senior forward Carnell Learmond, who edged Allen for the MSC scoring title with 19 goals this season. University of Rio Grande coach Scott Morrissey was voted by his peers
as the MSC Coach of the Year after leading the RedStorm to the
conference's regular season title.
CU did not have an All-Conference selection, but Allen, Adams,Casey
Clarke,
John Kennedy,
Ramiro Sanchez and
Gustavo Valecillos were all Honorable Mention selections.
All-Conference awards went by position went to Rio Grande's Jonathan Viscosi at goalkeeper.
In the back line, Lindsey Wilson's Chris Williams and Michael Azira,
Rio Grande's Steven O'Hara and University of the Cumberlands' Cedric
Muteshi were voted as all-conference defenders.
Rio Grande's Joel Thiessen and Dylan Williams and Lindsey Wilson's
Orrin Farrell and Lebogang Moloto are the all-conference midfielders.
Learmond along with teammate Moses Aduny and Rio Grande's Richard
Isberner and Ederson Lopez were selected as all-conference forwards.

Forty-four men's soccer student-athletes were recognized as Academic
All Mid-South Conference. The distinction is reserved for
student-athletes with a sophomore or higher class standing and a 3.25
and above grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

The Mid-South Conference Men's Soccer Tournament continues today with a pair of semifinal matches.
No. 2-seed Lindsey Wilson (14-2-1) plays No. 3-seed Cumberlands
(14-2-3) at 5 p.m. ET in one semifinal while top-seed Rio Grande (19-0)
faces No. 4-seed Campbellsville (15-4) at 7:30 p.m. ET in the nightcap.
The tournament's final is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on Thursday.
