COVINGTON, Ga. — Sophomore
Tristan Blevins fired a career-low 72 on Tuesday afternoon and Campbellsville men's golf sits in seventh place after Round 1 of the SCAD-Atlanta Invitational.
With Blevins' 72, he is tied for 15
th place, as a trio of golfers fired opening round 68's – Francisco Oliveria (Point University), Erik Hermanson (Union College) and Matthew Nuttall (Faulkner University).
Campbellsville has three players tied for 26
th and 30
th, respectively. Seniors
James Higgins and
Justin Hazel both opened their final campaign with matching 74's, while freshman
Justin Warman opened his collegiate career with a four-over, 75.
Justin Riffle, who is playing as an individual, struggled in his opening round of the year with a 16-over, 87.
Union College leads the team tournament with a three-under, 281. Point University is right on the heels of the Bulldogs (282), Mid-South Conference foe, University of the Cumberlands is tied with Campbellsville for sixth place (295).
Round 2 of the SCAD-Atlanta Invitational tees from 8:15-9:00 a.m. ET with Campbellsville joining up with Faulkner and Point's B team.
