WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Two more Tigers printed their names in the record book and one qualified for the NAIA Championships today as Campbellsville competed in the Fred Wilt Open at Purdue University.
Junior
Adam Sandidge, who already has an NCCAA National Championship to his credit this season in cross country, stood out for the Tigers, bringing home the victory in the 3000-meter run. Sandidge broke the school record and qualified for the NCCAA and NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships in the event. He outran 10 competitors in a time of 8:43.71.
Also printing his name in the record book, freshman
Jordan Thomas completed the 400-meter dash in a time of 51.44 seconds, enough for fourth place. Thomas went on to claim another fourth place finish in the 200-meter dash in 23.18 seconds.
Tyler Lewis and
Paxton Wiley represented the Tigers in sprints with sixth and seventh place finishes in the 60-meter hurdles, respectively. Lewis in 8.56 seconds and Wiley in 8.65 seconds.
On the distance side,
Corbin Harris finished the 800-meter run in second place with a time of 2:08.72.
Johannesburg Boulware completed the 600-meter run in 1:29.82 for fourth place followed closely by
Chris Stoeckel in 1:32.94 for sixth place. Rounding out the distance events for the Tigers,
Camryn Snapp ran the 3000-meter event in 9:23.50 to finish fifth.
The Tigers will return to the oval for their final tune-up before the inaugural MSC Indoor Championships on Saturday, Feb. 11 to compete in the Taylor Invitational in Upland, Ind.
