LEMONT, Ill —
Kylie Withrow fired a seven-over 79 and is currently leading the field after the first round of the Lewis University Flyer Intercollegiate at Cog Hill Golf Course and Country Club.
The Lady Tigers currently sit in third-place with a team score of 357. The host Lewis University is on top of the team leaderboard by 15 strokes over CU (342), while Drury University is eight strokes back from the lead (350).
Withrow, a junior from Glasgow, Ky., leads the field by three strokes over Lewis University's Madison Hill (82). Withrow's 79 is ahead of the field average by 2.6 strokes (81.6). She finished with a pair of birdies on the par-five ninth and par-four 17th holes.
The Lady Tigers also have a pair in the Top 11. Freshmen
Kristen Miller and
Devany Cope shot 89 and 90, respectively. Cope also finished the first round with a couple birdies on the par-four third and par-three 14th.
Michaela Jarman rounded out the four counting-scores with a 99 and is currently in 24
th place.
Brianna Wright, playing in her first collegiate tournament, shot a 152 and is in 30
th.
Round two of the Lewis Flyer Intercollegiate gets underway on Tuesday morning at Cog Hill Golf Course and Country Club.
