Warman shot 71 but Tigers struggle in opening round of NCCAA Championship

PALM COAST, Fla. — Sophomore Justin Warman fired a one-under 71 in the opening round of the NCCAA Men's Golf Championship and the Tigers sit in a tie for seventh place at The Conservatory at Hammock Beach Resort.
 
Campbellsville shot a 310 as a team and sits 28 strokes behind the leaders Colorado Christian University (288).
 
Warman is currently in third place after his opening round 71. He finished with four birdies but dropped three shots with bogeys throughout the day.
 
Outside of Warman, the Tigers struggled with three freshmen in the field. Austin Mahoney shot an opening round 78 and is tied for 33rd. BJ Knox fired an eight-over 80 and is tied for 44th, while Owen Workman shot an 84 and is tied for 57th.
 
The loan upperclassmen in the field for CU, Tyler Harrod, finished with an 81 and is tied for 50th.
 
Colorado Christian's Chase Carlson sits in first place after a four-under 68. Colorado Christian had all five players shoot 75 or lower and leads the championship by nine strokes over Indiana Wesleyan.
 
IWU's Nick Schad is solo second after a three-under 69.
 
The Tigers will tee off in the second round early on Tuesday morning at 7:40 a.m. ET.
