Jarman overcomes slow start and is tied for seventh, Lady Tigers sit in second after Day 1 of NCCAA

PALM COAST, Fla. — Juniors Michaela Jarman and Kylie Withrow both shot in the 70s while Lady Tiger golf finished with a 319 in the first round of the NCCAA Women's Golf Championship at Hammock Beach Resort – Conservatory Course.

The Lady Tigers trail Dallas Baptist by 23 strokes after DBU had all five scores in the 70s and have the Top 3 players on the individual leaderboard – Ann Parmerter (72), Hanna Harrison (73) and Evelyn Arguelles (74).

Jarman led Campbellsville but it wasn't a great start to her day. After starting three-over after three holes, Jarman rallied with multiple par saves and finished with a 78 – her lowest round at the NCCAA Championship. She currently sits in a tie for seventh place after round one.

Withrow was one stroke behind her fellow junior and is tied for 11th. After going out at two-over, Withrow struggled on her final nine holes by going five-over through five holes to drop back.

Freshman Devany Cope and sophomore Kayla Rodgers both shot 81s and are tied for 16th. Cope had one of the biggest highlights of the day after holing out for eagle from 153 yards on the par-four 14th. But Cope only rolled in one other birdie and finished with nine bogeys and a triple.

Kristen Miller struggled in her first national championship after shooting a 90 and is tied for 38th.

Campbellsville leads NCCAA newcomer Biola University by one stroke for second place.

The Lady Tigers will tee off in the second round on Tuesday morning starting at 11:45 a.m. ET.
