PALM COAST, Fla. —
Justin Warman finished with a five-over 77 and qualified as an individual in the final round of the NCCAA Men's Golf Championship.
As a team, the Tigers fell off the pace and dropped to 10
th place with scores of 310-313. CU failed to finish in the Top 9 by four strokes, as University of Northwestern shot a 305 today jumping ahead of Campbellsville.
Warman carded three birdies on his round but failed victim to a pair of doubles on his final hole of each side. He currently sits in a tie for seventh with Taylor Morton of Central Baptist College.
Warman will tee off at 7:40 a.m. ET on Wednesday morning as an individual.
The remaining Tigers also had a colorful scoreboard but senior
Tyler Harrod completed his NCCAA career with a three-over 75. Harrod carded four bogeys but was able to roll in a birdie on the par-four 14
th.
Harrod finished tied for 33
rd along with
Austin Mahoney. Mahoney started slow by bogeying six of seven holes before eagling the par-five 18
th – his ninth hole. He finished strong by shooting three-over in his final nine holes to finish the tournament at 12-over.
Fellow freshmen
BJ Knox and
Owen Workman both struggled in their first NCCAA Championship and finished tied for 56
th (+19) and tied for 60
th (+23), respectively.
Colorado Christian leads the team leaderboard after firing a 299 today. They lead Indiana Wesleyan by four strokes after the Wildcats shot the second-lowest of the tournament with a 294 today.
Chase Carlson from Colorado Christian leads the individual leaderboard after firing an even-par 72 today. He leads Indiana Wesleyan's Nick Schad by one stroke.
The NCCAA Championship concludes the fall season for Campbellsville. CU will start again with the Georgetown Invitational in St. Augustine, Fla. In the spring semester.
