CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The 14th-ranked Campbellsville's men's soccer team wraps up its regular season on Saturday night at 8 p.m. ET as it host Oakland City University at Finley Stadium to wrap up Homecoming.
The Tigers dropped its first match in their last eight outings on Wednesday night after falling to No. 10 Lindsey Wilson College, 4-0. Campbellsville's loss was its first conference loss in 23 matches, dating back to Oct. 8, 2014.
Andreas Nota made five saves in the contest, but the Tigers were outshot in the match, 25-9, and 9-4 in shots on goal, as Campbellsville slipped to 11-2-1 on the season.
In 14 matches this season, the Tigers have eight shutouts and its .570 shutouts per game rank second in the NAIA. Nota has led the Campbellsville defensive effort this season with 51 saves in over 1,148 minutes of work.
On the offensive side of the ball,
Ignacio Mangada leads the team with 21 points and nine goals, while his three assists are tied for second on the team.
Nathan Heath has eight goals and two assists, to go along with six goals and three assists from
Yudai Yamauchi. The Tiger trio is the only individuals to tally over 10 points this season.
NCAA Division II Oakland City is 5-8-1 on the season and dropped its last two matches. The Mighty Oaks dropped a 2-1 decision at home to Union College on Tuesday night. Emilio Uzcategui and Jack Cookson have led Oakland City this season with 12 points apiece. Uzcategui has a team-high five goals, while Cookson is tied for the team lead with four assists.
Last season, Campbellsville faced Oakland City on the road where the Tigers grabbed a 2-0 win over the Mighty Oaks.
Opening kick on Saturday night is set for 8 p.m. ET from Finley Stadium to wrap up Homecoming for Campbellsville.
