Three-match homestand for No. 24 Women’s Volleyball begins on Tuesday against Cumberland

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Campbellsville women's volleyball team returns to action on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. ET to host Cumberland University at Powell Athletic Center.
 
The Lady Tigers are set to begin a three-match homestand to closeout the regular season. Campbellsville hosts Cumberland on Tuesday, followed by a match at home against No. 1 Lindsey Wilson College on Thursday night. The regular-season finale for the Lady Tigers comes on Monday night against Indiana University-Southeast.
 
Last week, Campbellsville went 2-3 losing to No. 17 Georgetown College, No. 10 Columbia College and Indiana Wesleyan University – who is receiving votes. The Lady Tigers earned sweeps of Union College and Central State University to cap off the week and now sit at 22-6 on the season and 9-3 in the Mid-South Conference.
 
During the five matches last week, Annija Abolina paced the Campbellsville offense with 52 kills in four matches to go along with five blocks, three aces and 16 digs. Abolina pushed her season kill total 283 and averages 3.41 per set to lead Campbellsville. Kate Harris recorded a career-high 46 assists against Georgetown last week en route to averaging 9.18 assists per set and chipping with 23 digs.
 
Marcella Compeau continues to pace the Lady Tiger defense with 116 digs last week alone. She averaged 6.11 digs per set and now averages 4.43 digs per set this season. Compeau leads the team with 434 digs.
 
Cumberland comes into the match with a record of 15-12 overall and is 5-7 in the Mid-South Conference. Masa Nalovic leads the Phoenix this season with 243 kills, while Isidora Markovic has notched 229 kills. As a team Cumberland is hitting just .161 on the season. Taylor Kasper and Kara Snell led paced the back row for the Phoenix with a combined 583 digs, where Kasper averages 3.81 digs per set and Snell is averaging 3.51.
 
The Phoenix block has compiled 184 over 27 matches with Markovic recording 88 and Amanda Worrell has 64 on the year.
 
Earlier this season, Campbellsville erased a pair of one-set deficits and scored seven unanswered point in the fifth set to defeat the Phoenix on the road to start October, 3-2. Abolina recorded 13 kills, six aces and four blocks in the match, while Compeau finished with a match-high 22 digs.
 
First serve from Powell Athletic Center is set for 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday night.
