No. 24 Women’s Volleyball continues eight-match road swing at Bethel on Thursday night

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The newly ranked Campbellsville women's volleyball team is back on the road Thursday night as its travels to McKenzie, Tennessee to face Bethel University at 7 p.m. ET.
 
For the first time since 2009, the Lady Tigers are ranked in the top 25 of the NAIA Volleyball Coaches' Top 25 Poll. Campbellsville is 24th overall in the poll after grabbing 105 total points.
 
Last time out, the Lady Tigers played from behind the entire match against Cumberland University in a Mid-South Conference matchup. Campbellsville was a set down twice to the Phoenix, but both times the Lady Tigers answered and tied the match to send it into the fifth set.
 
In the fifth set, the Phoenix led by as many as six points and then held a 13-8 lead. However, Campbellsville found one more comeback and ended the match on 7-0 run to come from behind to the third set, 15-13, and the match, 3-2.
 
Annija Abolina led Campbellsville with 13 kills against Cumberland, while Marcella Compeau finished with a match-high 22 digs.
 
The Lady Tigers enter its non-conference matchup on Thursday night with an overall record of 15-3 and they have won their last four matches and seven of their last eight contests. All three of Campbellsville's losses this season have come against teams ranked in the top 20 of the national poll.
 
Maria Coelho leads the Lady Tiger offense with 165 kills, while Julia Fonseca is the most efficient hitter for Campbellsville with a .378 attacking mark. In total, the Lady Tigers have four different players with at least 130 kills.
 
Maliyah Tela has paced the Campbellsville offense with 10.18 assists per set and 631 total assists. Compeau anchors the back row for the Lady Tigers with 211 digs and she is the lone player on the team with over 200 digs.
 
Bethel enters the match up with an 8-10 record, while going 4-3 in the Southern States Athletic Conference. In last match for the Wildcats, they dropped a four-set contest to Martin Methodist College. Jessyca Watson has posted a team-best 166 kills and .232 attacking percentage. Bethel's setting duo of Katelyn Van Hooser and Brooke Buress has combined for 595 assists on the season.
 
Campbellsville and Bethel squared off to start season on Aug. 22, where the Lady Tigers picked up a 3-0 win over the Wildcats inside the Powell Athletic Center. In the match, Campbellsville hit .333 overall, while holding Bethel to a -.135 attacking percentage.
