Lady Tiger basketball has second straight NAIA Top 25 Showdown; tips vs. Talladega on Tuesday at 7pm

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — After sweeping the Mid-South Conference/Southern States Athletic Conference Challenge last week, Campbellsville women's basketball has another NAIA Top 25 matchup tonight as No. 25 Talladega College ventures into Tiger Town.

The sixth-ranked Lady Tigers and Tornadoes tip off at 7 p.m. ET in Powell Athletic Center. Fans can tune in on the CU Sports Network as Matt Payton calls his first game at home as the Voice of Tiger and Lady Tiger Basketball. Live radio and video links are provided at the link above.

CAMPBELLSVILLE VS. TALLADEGA
Campbellsville and Talladega have met four times in program history with the Lady Tigers owning a 3-1 record. After falling to the Tornados exactly two years ago on Nov. 14, 2015 (83-79 on the road), the Lady Tigers won every contest last season.

CU pulled out a nail-bitter on the road, 72-72, before whipping Talladega in a big way, 100-57, just a few weeks later to start the season 5-0. The Lady Tigers ended Talladega's year last season in the NAIA Championship first round with an 84-75 win at Rim Rock Auto Arena in Billings, Montana.

LADY TIGERS GO 3-0 AT CONFERENCE CHALLENGE
Lady Tiger Basketball swept the MSC / SSAC Challenge for the second consecutive season. CU battled its way past Blue Mountain College late, 77-52, and defeated Martin Methodist College with ease, 78-53. The biggest matchup of the Challenge came in the finale, as No. 6 Campbellsville and No. 11 Bethel University squared off in Crisp Arena. The Lady Tigers were able to hang on late for a 72-61 win and the third-straight over the Wildcats after defeating them in the 2015 NAIA Quarterfinal.

In those three wins, CU forced 93 turnovers, which is 31 turnovers per game. The Lady Tigers forced Blue Mountain into a season-high 36 turnovers and earned 33 steals.

CLEMENTS LED CU AT 2017 MSC/SSAC CHALLENGE
Senior guard Madison Clements average 17.3 points in the season openers this past weekend. Clements was on fire from the floor by hitting 44 percent (18-of-41) from the floor and 48 percent from 3-point land (10-of-21). But it was her defense that sparked the Lady Tigers to the three wins. In the three games, Clements picked up 12 total steals. Throughout her career, Clements has scored 825 points and based off last year's performance, is on pace to become another 1,000-point scorer in Lady Tiger history.

REDSHIRT FRESHMAN SAVANNAH GREGORY SHOWED OUT
Entering the season, Savannah Gregory had been hampered with injury after injury. The freshman from Scottsville, Ky. was forced to sit out last season after rehabbing an ACL tear during her final season in at ACS High School. Entering this year, she broke her finger and sat out much of preseason workouts. That didn't stop her from getting into tip-top shape and working on her craft. This past weekend, Gregory proved that hard work paid off and scored 28 points in three games to average just over nine points per contest. In addition to her 19 minutes per game, she hit 11-of-18 (61 percent) from the floor, all four free throw attempts and picked up six steals.
