No. 19 Men’s Soccer travels to Bluefield for NCCAA Mid-East Regional on Saturday

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The 19th-ranked Campbellsville men's soccer team is set to compete for the NCCAA Mid-East Region championship on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. ET from Paul Cline YMCA Sports Complex in Beckley, West Virginia.
 
The Tigers will face either host Bluefield College or Oakland City University for the regional title. The Rams and Mighty Oaks faceoff on Friday afternoon for the right to face Campbellsville in the regional final on Saturday.
 
Coming into the weekend, the Tigers are 13-3-1 overall and dropped its last match to No. 22 Cumberland University in the semifinals of the Mid-South Conference Championship last week.
 
Ignacio Mangada leads Campbellsville this season with 29 points and 13 goals. He is the only player on the team to reach double figure in goals, while also being one of two players to break 20 points this season. Nathan Heath is second overall with 20 points and nine goals during the season and he is 7-for-8 from the penalty spot.
 
Andreas Nota has played and started all 17 matches for the Tigers this season and compiled a .786 save percentage and a .98 goals against average. The freshman has led Campbellsville to 10 shutouts this season. Nota racked up 55 saves during his first collegiate season.
 
Bluefield comes into the weekend with a record of 14-5-0 overall and dropped its opening game of the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament to Truett McConnell University, 3-2. Joao Delgado ranks third in the NAIA with seven game-winning goals this season and his .47 game-winning goals per game are tops in the nation. Delgado leads the team with 14 goals and 31 total points in just 15 games this season. Sven Kleinhans has played the majority of time in goal, recording 66 saves and notching a goals against average of 1.18.
 
Oakland City is currently 6-9-1 on the season and picked up a 2-1 victory over Salem International University in its last match. Emilio Uzcategui and Jack Cookson lead the Mighty Oaks this season with 12 points each. Uzcategui has notched a team-best five goals, while Cookson is second on the team in goals and assists with four each. Walid Birrou Esafi and Colton Bland have split time in goal this season combining for 69 saves and a 2.51 goals against average. Birrou Esafi has notched all three clean sheets for Oakland City this season.
 
Earlier this season, Campbellsville defeated Oakland City, 10-0, during the Tigers' regular-season finale and closed out the October slate. Campbellsville and Bluefield have not met up since the 2003 season when the Rams were a member of the Mid-South Conference. In the 2003 meeting, the Tigers edged Bluefield on the road, 2-0.
 
The winner of Saturday's regional final earns a spot in the NCCAA National Championship in Kissimmee, Florida later this month.
