Bluefield defeats Tigers with 62nd minute goal in NCCAA Mid-East Regional

Box Score BLUEFIELD, Va. — Campbellsville men's soccer lost Saturday afternoon as the Tigers fell 1-0 to Bluefield College in the NCCAA Mid-East Regional.
 
Campbellsville drops to 13-4-1 record and it's the first year since 2012 the Tigers haven't reached the NAIA or NCCAA national championship tournament with an automatic bid.
 
Bluefield earns the Mid-East Region's automatic bid to the NCCAA National Championship in Kissimmee, Fla. and improved their record to 16-5 overall. Campbellsville is expected to receive an at-large bid to the NCCAA Championship
 
The difference marker tonight was a Kevin Stoffle's goal in the 62nd minute that uncorked a scoreless tie.
 
Andreas Nota totaled seven saves for CU but his counterpart Sven Kleinhans also stopped seven and kept Campbellsville scoreless for just the third time this year and second-straight.
 
The Tigers last prime opportunity to knot the match at one was in the 70th minute but Ignacio Mangada's shot was saved. CU also had a corner kick in the 72nd minute but the Tigers were unable to capitalize.
