Conference play wraps up with No. 24 Women’s Volleyball hosting top-ranked Lindsey Wilson

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Campbellsville women's volleyball teams has a tough test against No. 1 Lindsey Wilson College on Thursday night at 7 p.m. ET to conclude its Mid-South Conference schedule at Powell Athletic Center.
 
The 24th-ranked Lady Tigers come into the matchup on Thursday night with a record of 23-6 and are 10-3 in the Mid-South Conference. Over its last six matches, Campbellsville has spilt wins and losses going 3-3, but have won its last two without dropping a set. The Lady Tigers are currently tied with Georgetown for second in the MSC standings. However, Georgetown won both matches against Campbellsville to hold the tiebreaker.
 
Campbellsville needs to upset the Blue Raiders and Georgetown would have to lost to Cumberland University in order for Campbellsville to earn the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament next week.
 
Entering its final two matches of the regular season, Annija Abolina has paced Campbellsville with 291 kills and an attacking percentage of .278. The senior also recorded a team-high 44 service aces. Marcella Compeau leads the Lady Tigers with 4.48 digs per set and 452 total digs. Compeau ranks second in the MSC in digs and is fourth in digs per set.
 
In 44 sets this season, Kate Harris has racked up 316 assists and averages 7.18 per set. The freshman has notched 9.06 assists per set over her last nine appearance, highlighted by six 30-assist performances during that span.
 
Lindsey Wilson enters the week as the top-ranked team in the nation and is the only undefeated team left in the NAIA at 24-0. The Blue Raiders have dropped just one set all season and have won 65-straight sets. Indiana Wesleyan University is the only team to steal a set from Lindsey Wilson.
 
The Blue Raiders are second in the nation with a .353 attacking percentage, led by Grace Blomstedt leading the NAIA with a .538 attacking mark. Paulina Soblewska leads Lindsey Wilson with 240 kills and Makenzie Montano is seventh in the nation – tops in the MSC – with 11.1 assists per set.
 
Earlier this season, Campbellsville suffered a three-set loss on the road to Lindsey Wilson, where the Lady Tigers hit -.042 for the match. Julia Fonseca led Campbellsville with five kills and a block.
 
The Lady Tigers are searching for their first win over the Blue Raiders in 10 matches. The last Campbellsville win in the Battle of Highway 55 came on Oct. 9, 2012, when it took down Lindsey Wilson in straight sets.
