Men’s Soccer begins NCCAA National Championship on Monday afternoon

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville men's soccer team continues the postseason at the NCCAA National Championship in Kissimmee, Florida. The Tigers face Southern Wesleyan University on Monday at 3:30 p.m. ET and then Bethel College on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. ET.
 
Entering the NCCAA National Championship, Campbellsville has posted a record of 13-4-1 overall, but has dropped its last two matches heading into the national tournament. The Tigers are the second seed in the tournament and are the top-seeded team in Pool B after earning an at-large selection. Campbellsville is grouped with fifth-seeded Bethel and eighth-seeded Southern Wesleyan.
 
Last time out, the Tigers suffered a 1-0 on the road against Bluefield College in the championship match of the Mideast Regional. Following the match at Bluefield, Campbellsville has been shutout over their last two matches and its 182:54 of competition.
 
Leading Campbellsville this season has been Ignacio Mangada with 29 total points and 13 goals. Mangada also ranks fourth on the team with three assists. Nathan Heath is the only other Tiger with at least 20 points this season as he has chipped in with nine goals and a pair of assists.
 
Andreas Nota has anchored the defense for Campbellsville with 62 saves during his first collegiate season. He has compiled a record of 13-4-1 and recorded a goals against average of .98. Nota has also led the Tigers to 10 clean sheets on the year.
 
Southern Wesleyan comes into the national championship with an overall record of 6-9-3. The Warriors picked up a 2-1 victory in double overtime against Columbia International University to win the South Regional. Grant Kiker leads Southern Wesleyan with seven goals and 15 points, while Sergio Tapia has chipped in with 15 points, including five goals.
 
Bethel enters the week with a record of 11-6-3 and captured the North Central Regional title with a 3-0 win over Judson University. Bruno Jaeger and Jose Barquin lead the Pilots with six goals each, while Samuel Biek has chipped in five goals. Philip Keller has recorded four shutouts in 18 games this season and made 84 of Bethel's 113 saves during the season.
 
Earlier this year, Campbellsville defeated Bethel, 3-1, at home, while the last meeting between the Tigers and Warriors came during the 2013 NCCAA National Championship where Southern Wesleyan came away with a 2-1 victory.
 
Pool play at the NCCAA National Championship takes place Monday through Wednesday, followed by semifinals on Friday and the championship match on Saturday. All matches are set to take place at Austin-Tindall Soccer Complex in Kissimmee, Fla.
 
Prior to the start of the NCCAA National Championship, all nine teams are set to take part in a Christian Service Project in Kissimmee, Fla., on Sunday, Nov. 26.
 
Campbellsville begins its national tournament run on Monday at 3:30 p.m. ET against Southern Wesleyan and then the Tigers face Bethel at 3:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday afternoon to wrap up pool play.
