BOWLING GREEN, Ky. —
Rachel Blumfeldt netted the lone goal in the 61
st second and Campbellsville held University of the Cumberlands scoreless to win the Mid-South Conference quarterfinal match, 1-0.
The score for Blumfeldt, who used her speed to run past the defense early in the match, was her 11
th of the year for the Second-Team All MSC performer.
Campbellsville recorded 15 shots, five on goal, compared to 11 for the Patriots, but fellow Second-Team All MSC performer
Amanda Howard finished with six saves to pace the Lady Tigers.
CU had a few opportunities to extend their lead but were unable to find the back of the net late in the second half as Blumfeldt,
Jordan Stallings and
Rachel McWilliams had shots just miss frame.
Campbellsville (7-10-1) will now play in the MSC semifinal vs. No. 1-seed Cumberland University on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 3:30 p.m. ET at Warren Central High School. The loss for Cumberlands ends its season with a 7-10-1 record.
