CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Campbellsville women's volleyball team concludes its 2017 regular-season schedule on Monday night as it hosts Indiana University-Southeast for Senior Night from Powell Athletic Center at 7 p.m. ET.
Prior to the match, the Lady Tigers are going to honor seniors
Annija Abolina and
Marcella Compeau who will all be playing their final match at Powell Athletic Center on Monday night.
Campbellsville enters its regular-season finale with an overall record of 23-7, but the Lady Tigers are 3-4 over their last seven matches. After winning nine-straight matches, Campbellsville has won just back-to-back contests twice over the last seven games.
The Lady Tiger seniors have been a large part to the team's success this season. Abolina leads the Campbellsville attack with 296 kills and 3.33 kills per set. The Riga, Latvia native also leads the way with 44 aces and 4.17 points per set.
Compeau has taken over as the libero this season, where she has team highs in digs (465) and digs per set (4.47). Compeau is also third on the team with 27 aces throughout the season.
Indiana-Southeast comes into the week with a record of 17-18 and finished River States Conference action at 11-5. Monica Loftus leads the Grenadiers this season with 341 kills, while Alexis Bassett has recorded 281 kills and leads the team with a .265 attacking percentage. As a team, Indiana-Southeast hits just .152 overall. The Grenadiers rank 20th in the NAIA with 2,213 digs and Hannah Sipe is 28th overall as an individual with 1,128 assists.
Earlier this season, Campbellsville traveled to New Albany, Indiana for its first match of a home-and-home season series with Indiana-Southeast. In the second match of the season for the Lady Tigers, they swept the Grenadiers and Abolina was the only player in the match to surpass double figures in kills with 14. Compeau and
Savannah Moss each recorded 15 assists each for 30 of the teams 58 in the match.
First serve on Monday night will follow the Senior Night ceremony at approximately 7 p.m. ET from Powell Athletic Center.
