Men’s Basketball faces first road test of the season at Alice Lloyd on Tuesday

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Campbellsville men's basketball team takes on Alice Lloyd College in Pippa Passes, Ky., for the Tigers first road test of the season on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. ET.
 
After playing its last seven games at home, Campbellsville faces its first true road test of the season against Alice Lloyd inside the Grady Nutt Arena. The Tigers are currently on five-game winning streak – which is the longest under head coach Brent Vernon – and have pushed its record to 9-1 on the season.
 
Last time out; Campbellsville earned a 99-75 victory over Voorhees College, where the Campbellsville staring five tallied 81 of the teams 99 points. Campbellsville outrebounded Voorhees, 53-39, and have now recorded over 50 rebounds in back-to-back games.
 
Tim Coleman tied his career high with 21 points against Voorhees last week, while Andrew Smith notched a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds in his first start of the year for Campbellsville.
 
On the season, Hagen Tyler leads Campbellsville in scoring this season with 15.3 point per game, including 20 points last time out. Smith and Coleman are tied for second on the team in scoring with 12.8 points per game, while Smith leads the Tigers with 7.6 rebounds per game. Smith also ranks 10th in the NAIA with 16 blocks. As a team, the Tigers rank second in the NAIA with a 1.9 assist-to-turnover ratio, while they have averaged 20.2 assists a game.
 
Alice Lloyd enters the week with a record of 7-2 overall, but the Eagles suffered a 109-97 loss on the road to Indiana University-Kokomo during its last game. Alice Lloyd leads NAIA Division II with 101.2 points per game, where Timmy Dalton leads the team with 24.3 points per game – ranking sixth in the nation. Austin Crisp is also sixth overall in the country with 6.8 assists per game and the Eagles have averaged 19.6 assists a contest.
 
The matchup on Tuesday night is set to be the first contest between Campbellsville and Alice Lloyd since 1991. From 1981 to 1991, the Tigers and Eagles met 21 times with Campbellsville winning 16 of those meetings.
 
In games played in Pippa Passes, the series is tied at five, but Alice Lloyd has won the last four games at home against the Tigers. The last time Campbellsville won on the road against the Eagles was Nov. 16, 1985, when the Tigers picked up an 87-69 win.
