KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The United Soccer Coaches' Association announced the 2017 NCCAA Men's Soccer All-America Teams on Wednesday and Campbellsville University is represented well on the First, Second and Third teams.
Daniel Nimmo and
Ignacio Mangada earned First Team honors, while
Nathan Heath and
Cameron Badenhorst were named to the Second Team, and
Andreas Nota and
Yudai Yamauchi were tabbed as Third Team representatives.
Mangada led the Tigers with 14 goals and 31 points in 21 starts for CU. He registered three multi-goal games with a season-high three scores vs. Oakland City on Oct. 28. He finished the season ranked No. 20 with five game-winning goals.
Nimmo helped lead the Tiger defense that only allowed 18 goals. He also scored twice and assisted on another for five points on the offensive end of the field.
The First-Team duo also earned NCCAA Championship All-Tournament Team honors
Heath was second on the team with 10 goals and dished out 10 assists for 23 points on the year. Badenhorst scored twice and had three assists in 2017.
Yamauchi was fourth on the team with six goals and tied for the team-lead with four assists.
Nota finished the season with 77 saves and allowed 18 goals. He also carded seven shutouts in 21 games played.
Campbellsville finished with a 14-5-2 record and reached the NCCAA Championship Semifinal for the first time since 2012. The Tigers lost in the semifinal round to Southwestern Christian, 2-1.
