UPLAND, Ind. – It was a record-breaking day for Tiger Track and Field as they collected seven more school records at the Taylor University Invitational.
The 4x800-meter relay finished in a time of 8:24.81 for a first-place finish and school record. The relay consisted of
Chris Stoeckel,
Bret Crawford,
Corbin Harris and
Camryn Snapp.
Harris went on to grab another school record in the 1000-meter run with a time of 3:42.06, good enough for seventh place. Crawford followed suit in the 800-meter run with a 10
th-place finish and a record time of 2:03.55.
In the field events,
Brayden Russell and
Clayton Embry collected two more school records. Russell finished second in the high jump with a leap of 1.90 meters and Embry threw 15.36 meters in the weight throw.
Rounding out the records for the Tigers,
Jordan Thomas completed the 200-meter dash in a time of 23.56 seconds. Thomas also earned a Top 10 finish in the 400-meter run in second place with a time of 51.77 seconds.
In the distance events,
Adam Sandidge grabbed a first-place finish in the 3000-meter run with a time of 8:56.02 and
Chris Stoeckel earned ninth place in the 1000-meter run with a time of 2:55.77. Nick MCGaughey earned eighth place in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:34.34.
For the sprints,
Tyler Lewis ran the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.46 seconds, good enough for a second-place finish.
Other Tigers earning Top 10 finishes were
Nick Mabe and
Tyler Lewis in the high jump. Mabe jumped a height of 1.85 meters for fourth place and Lewis jumped 1.70-meters for ninth.
Up next for the Tigers is the inaugural Mid-South Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Feb. 18
th in Columbus, Ohio.
