ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Tiger golf improved their scores in the second round but Campbellsville dug itself too deep of a hole, finishing tied for 10
th at the Georgetown College Invitational.
After a first round 321 and sitting in 11
th place, Campbellsville improved by nine strokes.
James Higgins paced CU with scores of 77-75 to finish tied for 19
th, while
Justin Warman improved his scored with 82-77 but finished 43
rd.
Justin Riffle and
Robbie Johnson both were tied for 46
th. Riffle improved by five strokes with an 83-78 but Johnson fell off the pace by three strokes, 79-82.
Andrew Scalos finished in 60
th by shooting 85-91.
Connor Brown from Point University paced the field by shooting consecutive 71s. He defeated St. Andrews' Daniel Wieck (69-74) and Indiana Tech's Caleb Kroft (66-77) by one stroke.
Dalton State won the team title with two rounds in the 200s – 296 – 295. The Road Runners defeated St. Andrews by four strokes (303-292), Indiana Tech by five (295-301) and Point University by seven (303-295).
The Tigers will now have almost one month to prepare for the three-day Mid-South Conference Spring Championship hosted at Crooked Creek Golf Club in London, Ky., on March 19-21.
