KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced Monday that 62 Division I men's basketball student-athletes have been named 2016-17 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
Campbellsville's
Elliott Young picks up the honor for the second straight year after recording a 3.73 GPA.
In order to be nominated by an institution's sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.
Young finished his career by also being named the Mid-South Conference Champions of Character award winner. On the court, he scored 1,084 points to become the 30
th Tiger to surpass 1,000 in his career.
