Higgins leads Campbellsville with opening round 74 at MSC Spring Championship

LONDON, Ky. — Tiger golf could not overcome two scores in the 80s and sits in fifth place after the opening round of the MSC Spring Championship at Crooked Creek Golf Club.
 
Campbellsville shot a team score of 315 and is sitting behind a trio of teams tied for second - Cumberland University (309), Asbury University (309) and University of the Cumberlands (309). Lindsey Wilson College leads the team scores with the lone round in the 200s at 292.
 
Individually, the Tigers were led by senior James Higgins' two-over 74. Justin Warman and Justin Riffle are both in the Top 20 with 77 and 79s, respectively, tying for 14th and 19th.
 
Halen Stamper shot a 13-over 85 and is tied for 41st, while Nathan Lee is sitting in 46th with a 14-over 86.
 
Rasmus Lind and Alex Durham, both from Lindsey Wilson, are tied atop the individual standings with matching even-par 72s.

Rounding out the Top 5 is Ben Kendrick (Cumberlands), Kaleb Lester (Georgetown) and Erik Hermanson (Union) with 73s.

University of Pikeville sits in sixth place with a team score of 318, while Georgetown is seventh (320) and Shawnee State and Union College are both tied for eighth (323).
