COLUMBIA, Ky. — Tiger golf improved 12 strokes in today's second round of the Lindsey Wilson Spring Fling and
Justin Warman fired a three-under 69 leading CU to a fourth place finish.
The Tigers had all five golfers in the 70s and shot the fourth-lowest round of 292 for the day. Lindsey Wilson won the team competition by a landslide, firing 286-277 (563). Kentucky Wesleyan placed second (590), while Indiana University East beat Campbellsville by five strokes (591).
Warman improved five strokes from his first-round 74 to jump into the Top 5 and finish fourth overall.
James Higgins also improved from his first round with an even-par 72 to finish tied for 14
th.
Justin Riffle was the lone Tiger to struggle in his second round and shot five strokes worse than yesterday. He finished tied for 26
th after shooting 74-79.
Halen Stamper improved two shots with a five-over 77 in the final round.
Nathan Lee finished with the third-lowest round of the day for CU with a two-over 74 but a first-round 83 put him in a tie for 40
th.
Lindsey Wilson's Federico Navarro and Rasmus Lind were first and second, respectively. Navarro fired 68-67 (135), while Lind was one stroke behind, 69-67 (136). The two shot the lowest rounds of the tournament with matching 67s in round two.
Tyler Pearson from IU East went low both rounds with 70-68 (138) to finish third. After Warman at No. 4, Lindsey Wilson's Cody Mingus and Brescia University's Nolan White finished tied for fifth with total scores of 144.
The Tigers have two weeks to prepare for the Campbellsville University Invitational hosted at Rosewood Country Club in Lebanon, Ky. on Monday-Tuesday, April 10-11.
