James Higgins both fired two-under 70s and Campbellsville men's golf improved 10 strokes to jump into third place at the Mid-South Conference championship.
With the weather turning for the better, Bowling Green Country club hardened and the greens were mighty fast for both the men's and women's tournament. The Tigers made adjustments on the greens, rolling in 12 birdies as a team.
Warman and Higgins combined for seven of those, while Warman finished with a pair of bogeys for his two-under 70. He is currently sitting in fourth place and has the third-most birdies in the tournament. Higgins, rolled in three birdies but his one blemish was a bogey on the par-four first hole dropping him into fifth place.
Justin Riffle is the last Tiger in the Top 10, as he finished with a two-over 74. Riffle was one-under after his first nine holes (35) but dropped three strokes with three bogeys on the third, fourth and sixth holes. Riffle has taken advantage on the par-fives all week, scoring the second-best number (four-under).
Tyler Harrod, a junior from Lawrenceburg, Ky., also shot a respectable first nine but bogeyed seven holes in a row to fall off the pace and finish with a seven-over 79. He is currently in a tie for 25
th place.
Scalos was the lone Tiger to record any score higher than a bogey as he doubled the par-four first and par-three seventh holes. Scalos carded only six pars on the day to finish with a 12-over 84.
Lindsey Wilson's Rasmus Lind leads the tournament by three strokes after firing two-under in round one and five-under in round two. He leads Cumberland University's Garrett Daniel (74-66) and Ben Kendrick from University of the Cumberlands (70-73).
The Blue Raiders (579) lead the team tournament by nine strokes over Cumberland (588). Campbellsville is third (596), while Cumberlands is fourth (603), Georgetown is fifth (609). Pikeville is sixth (624) and Shawnee State is seventh (633).
Round three of the MSC championship gets underway at 9 a.m. ET on Wednesday morning at Bowling Green Country Club.
