Women’s Volleyball begins road slate at Indiana Southeast on Tuesday night

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Campbellsville women's volleyball team hits the road for the first time during its 2017 season as it faces Indiana University Southeast on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. ET in New Albany, Indiana.

The Lady Tigers started its 2017 campaign at home last Tuesday night with a 3-0 win over Bethel University. After competing just once last week, Campbellsville begins its five-match week on Tuesday against the Grenadiers.

In the season opener last week, the Lady Tiger defense guided the team to the sweep. Campbellsville held Bethel to a -.135 hitting percentage throughout the match and the Wildcats had a negative hitting percentage in each of the three sets. Savannah Moss led the defensive effort with 10 of the teams 30 digs in the match, while the Lady Tigers compiled 5.5 blocks in the match.

Indiana Southeast suffered losses to No. 5 Lindsey Wilson, University of Northwestern Ohio, University of the Cumberlands and Cumberland University. In each of the four matches, the Grenadiers were unable to pick up a set as they lost 3-0 in each match.

Monica Loftus has led the Indiana Southeast offense with 33 kills, while Kelsey Willinger and Parker Andres have each recorded 21 kills. The Grenadiers have struggled in efficiency on offense as they have an overall hitting percentage of .077. Natalie Keene leads the team with 38 digs; while Alexis Bassett has a team-high five total blocks.

In two head-to-head matchups last season, Campbellsville picked up a pair of 3-0 wins over Indiana Southeast. In the matchup played in New Albany last season, the Lady Tigers won by the scores of 25-22, 25-18 and 25-22. Maria Coelho led Campbellsville with 14 kills – which is her career high in a three-set match.
