CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Lady Tiger soccer put up impressive numbers for the second-straight game and shutout its opponent, winning 9-0 on Tuesday night.
Molly Hall delivered her first-career hat trick – the first since 2015 when Mhairi Fyfe scored three goals against Brescia on Oct. 14.
In addition,
Lakin Walls scored a pair of goals for her second multi-score game of her career and
Kiersten Clukey finished with a multi-goal performance – the second-straight game for her.
Campbellsville (2-4) dominated the pitch the entire night, finishing with 36 shots and 18 on goal. Oakland City finished with three shots – all on goal – but
Amanda Howard saved each.
Walls didn't take long to get the action started in the sixth minute as
Rachel Seals recorded her first-career assist. Just three minutes later, Hall netted her first score on a Clukey assist.
Clukey put CU ahead 3-0 in the 14
th minute, as fellow freshman
Rachel Blumfeldt recorded her loan assist of the night. Just six minutes later, Blumfeldt put the Lady Tigers ahead 4-0 with her fourth goal of the year – tying Hall for the team-lead.
To finish the first half, Hall netted her second goal off the lone assist from Walls.
Overall, Hall finished with six points, while Walls was close behind with five (two points for a goal, one for an assist).
In the second half, CU scored four goals and Walls was the one to get it started. She split two defenders and finished back post to put CU ahead, 5-0.
Clukey scored her second goal in the 53
rd minute after rebounding her own miss and finished upper-90.
Hall scored in the 55
th minute to complete the hat trick and put CU ahead, 8-0.
The scoring ended with senior
Valeska Tovar splitting two defenders and finishing just outside the 18-yard box for her third goal of the year.
In the past two games, CU has scored a combined 17 goals – which is the most in any two-game span since 16 goals were scored in a two-game span vs. Bryan College and Cumberlands in 2013.
The Lady Tigers will now hit the road on Friday and travel to McKenzie, Tenn. for a matchup with Bethel University. Kickoff at 6 p.m. ET.
