Bethel University scores in the ninth minute and holds on late to end Lady Tigers' win streak, 1-0

McKENZIE, Tenn. — Bethel University scored in the ninth minute and held on to defeat Campbellsville on Friday night, 1-0.
 
The Lady Tigers (2-5) had their two-game win streak snapped after recording only one shot on goal to their seven total shots.
 
In the ninth minute, Marina Hamer found teammate Janine Dennis to break the scoreless tie.
 
Bethel stays undefeated on the year with a 7-0 record.
 
The Wildcats kept Amanda Howard busy in the first half with seven of their 10 shots coming in the opening 45 minutes. It was the Lady Tiger midfield and defense stepping up their game in the final frame holding Bethel to three second-half shots.
 
Howard finished with four saves on the night and pushes her career mark to 379 – 41 from breaking the Lady Tiger record set by Brandi Hagerman (420).
 
Taylor Pence and Rachel Blumfeldt led the Lady Tigers with three shots apiece, while the freshman's Blumfeldt recorded the lone shot on frame.
 
The Lady Tigers return to Campbellsville's Finley Stadium on Tuesday, Sept. 19 to host Spring Arbor University at 4:30 p.m. ET.
