CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Top-ranked Spring Arbor University used six first half goals to take down the Campbellsville women's soccer team, 8-0, on Tuesday night at Finley Stadium.

Bethany Balcer, Aubrey Schierbeek and Rene Broekhuizen scored two goals apiece, while Balcer chipped in with a pair of assists for the Cougars (8-1-0). Rachel McWilliams recorded the only shot on goal for the Lady Tigers (2-6-0).

Spring Arbor scored in the second minute of the match as Balcer scored her first goal from nearly 30 yards out to beat Amanda Howard. The Cougars continued to put the pressure on as they scored in the 12th, 18th and 20th minutes to stretch its lead to four goals.

After Spring Arbor took a 5-0 lead in the 25th minute, Campbellsville looked to create some offensive pressure with a corner kick, but the Lady Tigers were not able to cash in on the set piece.

The Cougars rounded out the first half with a goal from Lauren Orr in the 41st minute to grab a 6-0 advantage heading into the half.

Spring Arbor started the second half the same way as the first, scoring within the first five minutes of the period. Broekhuizen capped off her brace in the 48th minute.

The Cougars offensive pressure subsided as Campbellsville tried to end the shutout. McWilliams forced Allison Keizer to make a save in the 74th minute, but that was all of the offensive opportunity for the Lady Tigers.

Spring Arbor added a goal in the 89th minute to pick up the 8-0 win over Campbellsville.
