GEORGETOWN, Ky. — Freshman
BJ Knox finished with a two-over 74 to be tied for 18
th while Campbellsville is in eighth place after Day 1 of the Mid-South Conference Fall Championship.
The Tigers (305) trail Shawnee State University (303) by two strokes and Cumberland University (294) by 11. University of the Cumberlands currently holds a small margin lead over Lindsey Wilson by one stroke – 287 and 288, respectively.
The host Georgetown College is in third – three strokes from the lead – with an opening round 290. Behind Campbellsville in ninth and 10th, respectively, is Midway University (306) and Pikeville (309).
The Tigers had three players within two strokes of each other, as
Tyler Harrod is tied for 28
th with a four-over 76. He is ahead of
Austin Mahoney (+5, 77) and
Justin Warman (+6, 78).
Pierce Dahl was the final Tiger on the leaderboard and sits in solo 60
th after an opening round 84.
The final round of the MSC Fall Championship is scheduled for another 8 a.m. shotgun start at Cherry Blossom Golf Course.
The Tigers are looking for their first regular season title since 2010 – which is was the third in program history. They finished third in the fall, fifth in the spring and fourth in the MSC Championship last year.
