GEORGETOWN, Ky. — Freshman Devany Cope fired a five-over 77 in her first-career tournament to lead Lady Tigers in the first round of the Mid-South Conference Fall Championship at Cherry Blossom.
 
Campbellsville currently sits in sixth place with a team score of 329 –— 31 strokes behind the leaders University of the Cumberlands. The Patriots are ahead by 15 strokes over Lindsey Wilson College (313).
 
Cope lead the Lady Tigers and is currently tied for seventh. She is nine strokes off the leader from 2016 National Champion Kaitlyn Riley from University of the Cumberlands. Riley was the lone sub-par round with a four-under 68.
 
After Cope, CU had a pair of Lady Tigers tied for 20^th and 24^th. Sarah Dickens finished with a 10-over 82, while Michaela Jarman fired an 11-over 83.
 
Kristen Miller, also playing in her first-career tournament, finished with an 87 and is tied for 33^rd. Kylie Withrow is sitting in solo 36^th with an opening round 88.
 
Midway University (315) is two strokes out of second place, while Cumberland University (322) is seven strokes behind the Eagles in fourth.  Pikeville is fifth (326), while CU sits in sixth with a team score of 329.
 
The final round of the MSC Fall Championship is scheduled for another 8 a.m. shotgun start at Cherry Blossom Golf Course.
 
CU finished second in all three MSC sponsored tournaments last season and is looking for its first regular season championship since winning back-to-back titles in 2010 and 2011.
