GEORGETOWN, Ky. — Battling through two weather delays lasting three hours, Campbellsville women's golf improved one position to finish fifth at the Mid-South Conference Fall Championship.
The Lady Tigers shaved 13 strokes off their first-round score to jump University of Pikeville in the standings. CU shot 329-316 as a team, while University of the Cumberlands won the team title by firing 298-308 – winning by 20 strokes over Lindsey Wilson College.
Four of the five individuals in the field improved from their first-round scores.
After shooting a opening round 77, freshman
Devany Cope backed that up with a three-over 75 today to place solo fourth and earn All-Tournament honors in her first collegiate tournament.
Junior
Michaela Jarman was right behind by six strokes to be tied for 10
th. Sitting at even par with three holes left, Jarman bogeyed her final three holes to match Cope's final round score with a 75.
Kylie Withrow also improved her final round score by eight strokes. She fired an eight-over 80 and finished in 26
th.
Sarah Dickens fell off the pace today with an 87 and finished tied for 27
th, while
Kristen Miller improved one stroke from yesterday with an 86 to place tied for 32
nd.
The 2016 National Champion Kaitlyn Riley won individual medalist honors with a four-under total through the two rounds. Riley was the lone golfer in the field to record an under-par score – her 68 from round one.
