CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Campbellsville women's soccer team has a tough test in front of them on Tuesday as they host the No. 1-ranked team in the NAIA in Spring Arbor University at 4:30 p.m. ET inside Finley Stadium.
The Lady Tigers enter the contest with an overall record of 2-5-0 after having its two-game winning streak snapped this past Saturday in a 1-0 loss at Bethel University. Over its first seven games this season, Campbellsville has been held scoreless three times.
Kiersten Clukey has led the Campbellsville offensive attack with a total of 10 points, including a team-best four assists. Clukey has also chipped in with three goals – which is tied for third-most on the team.
Molly Hall and
Rachel Blumfeldt lead the Lady Tigers with four goals apiece. Hall recorded the program's first hat trick since 2015 after scoring three times in Campbellsville's last win over Oakland City University.
Amanda Howard has started all seven games for the Lady Tigers this season making a total of 31 saves in over 622 minutes of work this season. Last week, Howard helped Campbellsville record its second shutout of the season, while making four saves in the team's 1-0 loss to Bethel. The senior garnered NCCAA Women's Soccer Division I Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week honors for her performance last week.
Spring Arbor comes into the contest with a record of 7-1-0 and the Cougars suffered their first loss of the season during their last game against No. 4 Martin Methodist College, 2-0. Spring Arbor leads the nation with six shutouts this season and it did not surrender a goal until it first contest at the Lindsey Wilson College Classic this past weekend against the host Blue Raiders.
Bethany Balcer leads the Cougars with 25 points and 11 goals, while Aubrey Schierbeek has a team-best six assists. A trio of individuals have appeared in goal for Spring Arbor this season combing to make 21 saves over eight matches this season. Ashley Timmons leads the Cougars with 450 minutes played, 14 saves and a pair of shutouts.
Tuesday's match is set to be the first-ever contest between the two programs.
Kickoff is slated for 4:30 p.m. ET as Campbellsville takes on top-ranked Spring Arbor at Finley Stadium.
