Women’s Volleyball continues MSC slate at No. 3 Lindsey Wilson in the Battle of Highway 55

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Campbellsville women's volleyball team is set to face its second-straight ranked opponent in the first installment of the Battle of Highway 55 this season against No. 3 Lindsey Wilson College on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. ET in Columbia, Ky.
 
The Lady Tigers saw their eight-game winning streak come to an end last week as they lost their first match of the season to No. 18 Georgetown College in straight sets. Campbellsville enters the match with an overall record of 8-1 and an even 1-1 mark in Mid-South Conference action.
 
Last time out against Georgetown, Campbellsville lost in straight sets and it did not lead until the second set of the match. Maliyah Tela paced Campbellsville with 35 assists in the match, while Annija Abolina led the way with 13 kills. Maria Coelho notched a .529 attacking percentage to go along with 10 kills. For the match Campbellsville hit .300 overall.
 
Abolina leads the Lady Tigers this season with 110 kills, while posting a .332 attacking percentage. Tela has averaged 11.2 assists per set this season, which is third best in the nation and best in the MSC. As a team, Campbellsville ranks 10th in the NAIA with an attacking percentage of .263.
 
Lindsey Wilson enters the match with 13-0 record and it has won its first four conference matches of the season without dropping a set. Overall, the Blue Raiders have lost just one set all season and they have won 32-straight sets. Lindsey Wilson ranks second in the country with an attacking percentage of .347 and ninth in kills per set (14.28).
 
A trio of Blue Raiders have eclipsed 100 kills this season with Paulina Sobolewska recording a team-best 132 kills. Reining MSC Player of the Year Makenzie Montano is ninth in the NAIA with 10.85 assists per set, while chipping in with 102 digs and 48 kills.
 
Lindsey Wilson is currently riding a nine-match win streak over Campbellsville. The last time the Lady Tigers defeated the Blue Raiders was during the 2012 season when Campbellsville swept Lindsey Wilson on the road on Oct. 9.
 
Last season, the Blue Raiders swept the Lady Tigers in Columbia, Ky., while winning in four sets inside the Powell Athletic Center.
