Three-match homestand begins on Thursday night for Women’s Volleyball against Life

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – A three-match homestand for the Campbellsville women's volleyball team begins on Thursday night against Life University at 7 p.m. ET inside Powell Athletic Center.
 
The Lady Tigers are looking to snap a two-match skid after dropping it last two matches – both coming in Mid-South Conference action – to No. 18 Georgetown College and No. 3 Lindsey Wilson College.
 
After losing just three sets over it first eight games, Campbellsville did not win a set over its last two matches. The Lady Tigers enter the MSC matchup on Thursday night with an 8-2 record overall and they sit at 1-2 in the conference.
 
This season, Maliyah Tela has paced the Campbellsville offense with a total of 350 assists and 10.61 assists per set. Tela's 10.61 assists per set ranks 12th in the nation. In the last match for the Lady Tigers, the Blue Raiders stymied their offensive attack as Campbellsville hit -.042 in the match and recorded just 17 kills, where Tela compiled just 14 assists in the three sets.
 
Life comes into the match with a record of 13-4 and after starting the season winning 13 of its first 15 contests, the Running Eagles have lost their last two matches in straight sets. Life is currently in the middle of a seven-match road trip. Liz Mann leads the Running Eagles with 209 kills this season, while Deandra King has posted a team-best .249 attacking percentage.
 
Mann also ranks sixth in the nation with 36 service aces, while Life's 130 total aces are eighth most in the NAIA. The Running Eagles have played just one conference match this season as it swept University of the Cumberlands, just before Life went on a two-match skid.
 
Campbellsville defeated Life twice last season both coming inside the Powell Athletic Center. In the first match of the doubleheader, the Lady Tigers picked up a sweep of the Running Eagles, followed by a 3-1 win in the second match of the day.
 
First serve from Powell Athletic Center is set for 7 p.m. ET with Campbellsville starting a three-match homestand against Life on Thursday night.
