CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – After dropping its first game of the season last week to Bethel University, the 12th-ranked Campbellsville men's soccer team looks to get back on track Saturday afternoon against Bethel College at 1 p.m. ET from Finley Stadium.
The Tigers suffered a 5-4 loss on the road to Bethel University last week, where Campbellsville erased a two-goal deficit and tied the match twice, but a penalty kick for the Wildcats in the 88th minute was the difference maker in the match.
During the second half of the Tigers last match, a total of eight goals were scored with a four coming from each team.
Ignacio Mangada leads Campbellsville with four goals and an assist this season, while
Nathan Heath has recorded three goals – all coming off penalty kicks – in the last three matches.
Andreas Nota has started in all six games for the Tigers making 21 saves in goal during his 482 minutes of work. Nota has three shutouts on the season and has guided Campbellsville to four shutouts as a team.
Bethel College comes into the weekend with a record of 6-1-1 overall and is unbeaten over its last four matches. The Pilots lone loss of the season came against Holy Cross College, 1-0. Bethel has a trio of players leading the way with three goals this season, while 10 different individuals have at least one goal this season. Pedro Patino leads the Pilots with 10 points – three goals and four assists.
Phillip Keller has been the only goalkeeper to appear for Bethel, making 37 saves over eight contests. Keller's .710 goals against average ranks 20th in the nation.
The last time Campbellsville and Bethel faced off was during the 2015 season. The Pilots handed the Tigers one of their two losses during the season. Bethel came away with a 4-1 victory at home.
Campbellsville hosts Bethel at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon from Finley Stadium.
