Blumfeldt's equalizer in the 41st allows Lady Tigers to come away with 1-1 tie at rival Georgetown

GEORGETOWN, Ky. — Rachel Blumfeldt pulled the Lady Tigers back even in the 41st minute and Campbellsville earned a tie in its first Mid-South Conference match of the year over Georgetown College, 1-1.

Georgetown (5-3-2, 0-0-1 MSC) took a lead in the 33rd minute with a Jodi DeJohn goal but Blumfeldt equalized in the 41st – her first of the season.

Georgetown held possession for the most part of the night and tallied 21 shots – 10 on goal – but the Lady Tiger defense stepped up in a big way.

Campbellsville (2-7-1, 0-0-1 MSC) goalkeeper Amanda Howard compiled a season-high nine saves – five in the first period, three in the second and one in the first overtime. CU only allowed one shot in the final overtime period but it was off frame.

Campbellsville had a chance in the 104th and 105th minutes but Rachel McWilliams' and Makayla Shearer's shots went high and were saved, respectively.

Out of the four shots that were on frame, Georgetown's Sarah Slusher saved three.

With the tie, the Lady Tigers are now 2-7-1 overall and 0-0-1 inside Mid-South Conference play.

CU hits the road on Saturday, Sept. 30 as it will travel to Pulaski, Tenn. to face the Martin Methodist Redhawks. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET.
