COLUMBIA, Ky. — Freshman
Owen Workman fired a three-under 68 in his first collegiate tournament to lead the Tigers to a third-place tie after Day 1 of the Lindsey Wilson Classic at The Pines.
Workman dominated the par fours by playing them three-under and rolled in a career-high five birdies and 11 pars. He is currently tied for third.
Campbellsville has six players from 19
th to 24
th.
Justin Riffle and
Pierce Dahl are tied for 19
th after firing three-over 74s.
Justin Warman,
BJ Knox and
Tyler Harrod are all one shot behind and tied for 24
th by shooting four-over 75.
Seito Miyaski and
Austin Mahoney round out the Tigers eight individuals in the field. Miyasaki shot six-over 77, while Mahoney was one behind with a seven-over 78.
Union College's Jacob Vaughn leads the way with a five-under 66. He is out in front by one stroke over Oakland City's Mitchell Frederick and two strokes clear of West Virigina Tech's Braden Keown, Shawnee State's Jordan Tieman and CU's
Owen Workman.
Lindsey Wilson leads the team standings by five strokes (282). The Blue Raiders are the lone team to shoot under par with their Top 4 players. Shawnee State is in second place with a three-over 287. West Virginia Tech and Campbellsville are tied at eight-over (292), while Oakland City and Union College are 12-over (296).
The second round of the Lindsey Wilson Fall Classic is expected to start at 9 a.m. ET at The Pines in Columbia.
