Men’s Basketball hosts Shawnee State on Saturday to cap off week at home

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – With a three-game road swing on the horizon, Campbellsville's men's basketball team finishes off its back-to-back home games on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. ET against Shawnee State University.
 
The Tigers come into the weekend matchup on a four-game skid and are 15-5 on the season. This marks the third-straight season that Campbellsville has had a stretch of four games without a win and each of the streaks have come within Mid-South Conference play.

Against University of Pikeville on Thursday night, the Tigers let a halftime lead slip away for the first time this season as Pikeville used a 25-7 run to start the second half en route to the 81-72 victory. Campbellsville shot just 33.3 percent in the second half after going 2-for-15 from the floor over the first 12 minutes of the half.
 
Tim Coleman led the way for the Tigers with 27 points to tie his career high and he now leads the team in scoring with 14.6 points per game. Hagen Tyler chipped in with 13 points against Pikeville and he is averaging 14.5 points a game.
 
In conference action, Coleman is averaging 16 points per game, while Adam Stanford has been the second-best scorer for Campbellsville with 11.5 points per game over its his four conference appearances. During the conference slate, the Tigers have been out rebounded by nearly four boards a game after holding nearly a plus-seven rebounding margin during non-conference affairs.
 
Shawnee State is 2-3 since the start of the New Year and has alternated losses and wins over that stretch. Coming into the contest, the Bears hold a record of 10-9 overall and are 1-3 in the MSC after they beat Cumberland University last week at home, 85-82.
 
Jayllen Carter is the team's leading scorer with 15.8 points a game after he recorded 24 points for Shawnee State in its loss to No. 5 Georgetown College on Thursday night, 105-79. EJ Onu is one of the top shot blockers in the nation with 3.4 blocks per game to lead the nation and his 61 blocks are second most in the NAIA.
 
In the all-time series, Campbellsville leads Shawnee State, 14-7, and the Tigers have won the last six games. In the last meeting, Campbellsville earned an 87-69 victory on the road, which ended its four-game skid last season. The Bears' last win over the Tigers came on Jan. 24, 2015 in Portsmouth, Ohio, after Shawnee State earned a 63-61 win. Campbellsville has won its last four home games against the Bears entering this weekend.
