Road trip continues for Men’s Basketball at Cumberland on Saturday evening

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Tigers continue their three-game road swing on Saturday night at 5 p.m. ET against Cumberland University inside the Dallas Floyd Recreation Center.
 
Campbellsville comes into the matchup on Saturday after winning its last two games. The Tigers upset No. 2-ranked Lindsey Wilson College on the road Thursday night, 67-65. Despite being held without a field goal for the last three-plus minutes, Campbellsville made eight of its 10 free throws in the second half to hold off a late Blue Raider rally.

Andrew Smith led the Tigers with 17 points and was a rebound shy of a double-double. Tim Coleman – who went 4-for-4 from the free throw line in the final minute of the game – was the only player for Campbellsville to reach double figures with 11 points.
 
The duo of Coleman and Smith have led the Tigers as of late with Coleman reaching double figures in the last four games and Smith has averaged 19 points in the Campbellsville's last two victories. Coleman leads the team with 14.3 points per game and Smith is averaging 13.3 points a contest. Hagen Tyler is the only other Tiger to average double figures this season with 13.6 points per game.
 
In its six conference games, Campbellsville has struggled to shoot the deep ball and is just 31.7 percent from deep after a season low three-point field goal percentage of 23.5 percent against Lindsey Wilson on Thursday night. In the non-conference, the Tigers converted on 40.9 percent of their three pointers.
 
Cumberland comes into the weekend with a record of 8-12 overall and is currently on a four-game losing streak. The Phoenix sit a 1-5 in the Mid-South Conference after dropping an 82-75 contest to No. 5 Georgetown College on Thursday night.
 
Diondrey Holt, Jr., leads Cumberland this season with 16.2 points a game and he is joined by Andrew Rogan (12.3) as the only two players for the Phoenix averaging double figures. Holt, Jr., has average 31.5 minutes per game, while also posting a team-best 73 assists. Juandrico Walker leads the team in rebounding with 6.8 per game, while he and Charles Sweatt-Washington are knocking on door of double figure scoring with 9.1 and 9.4 points per game, respectively.
 
In the all-time series, Campbellsville leads 20-11, but Cumberland has won three of the last four matchups. The last meeting featured the Phoenix earning an 84-76 win at home to sweep the season series against the Tigers for the first time. The last time Campbellsville won in Lebanon, Tennessee against the Cumberland came on Dec. 6, 2014 when the Tigers earned a 73-59 victory.
