Tiger golf slips to second place in final round of Martin Methodist Fall Classic

ATHENS, Ala. — Tiger golf fell off the pace on Tuesday afternoon in the second round of the Martin Methodist Red Hawk Fall Classic and slipped to second place overall. 
 
The Tigers shot 293-307 in the two-day tournament and finished second behind Calhoun Community College which finished with scores of 297-291 to outlast CU by 12 strokes overall. 
 
Individually, the Tigers were led by Justin Warman and Austin Mahoney. Warman shot 78-68 to finish even par for the tournament and placed runner-up. Mahoney was leading after Day 1 after a three-under 69 but fell off the place with a 77 in round two and finished in third place at two-over.
 
Landon Conner also fell off the pace as he dropped nine strokes in the second round. He shot 72-81 to be tied for 13thoverall. Jon Brewington was right behind Conner in 22ndafter scores of 76-81, while Seth Bohl rounded out the Tigers 26thwith scores of 76-83. 
 
The Tigers out-paced Martin Methodist by one stroke, 600-601, while Georgia Military College finished in fourth (610), Blue Mount College was fifth (620) and Faulkner University placed sixth (629). 
 
The Tigers will now have two weeks to prepare for the NCCAA Championship at Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Fla.
