Hall, Walls and Blumfeldt combine to rout University of Pikeville on Wednesday, 5-0

PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Lady Tiger soccer scored five goals in the first half to rout University of Pikeville on Wednesday afternoon, 5-0. 
 
The Lady Tigers improve to 9-5 overall and 3-2 inside Mid-South Conference play with one road conference game remaining at the University of the Cumberlands on Saturday. 
 
With the 5-nil score, CU has not out-scored UPIKE 47-3 in its last 12 games against the Bears. The last time UPIKE has upset Campbellsville came on Oct. 22, 2007. 
 
Today, though, it was the striker duo of Lakin Walls and Molly Hall. Both scored a pair of goals, while sophomore Rachel Blumfeldt tallied the other. 
 
Walls got the scoring going after Hall found her in the fifth minute to put CU ahead, 1-0. Just a little over three minute later, Hall netted her first goal of the game and the Lady Tigers took total control the rest of the way. 
 
In the 18thminute, Blumfeldt got in on the scoring. She rebounded a miss off a corner to register her eighth goal of the year. Then in the 24th, Walls rebounded a shot by Blumfeldt off the crossbar to finish her 11 goal of the season. 
 
The scoring ended in the 34thminute, as Kiersten Clukey found Hall to put CU ahead, 5-0. The goal was the ninth of the year for Hall and Clukey's assist was her second. 
 
Katelyn Young started in goal and didn't allow a score in 31-plus minute of play. Sydney Pinkham finished the final 58+ to register four saves overall. 
 
Campbellsville out-shot UPIKE, 34-6 and had 15 shots on goal. The Bears had five of their six shots on frame. 
 
Campbellsville now travels to University of the Cumberlands for a crucial MSC matchup on Saturday, Oct. 20. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. ET in Williamsburg. Cumberlands has a 3-0-1 record in MSC play and is 14-1-1 overall.
